Full-time Printshop Assistant

DIRECTORATE OF RESOURCES

The Directorate of Resources will support the reform of the Agency by providing the required human, financial and administrative environment. The Directorate also has a significant role to play in making the Agency more cost-efficient. DR is organised into four main Areas that correspond to its main processes: DR Administration, DR Corporate Services, DR People Management and DR Business Partnering.
Within DR Corporate Services, The Agency Site and Office Management Section is responsible for the following areas of activities: space management, refurbishing offices, garden upkeep, internal removals, cleaning, catering, archiving, library, document management, mail, printshop and transport.
The successful candidate will be working in the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (UAC).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be accountable to the Supervisor Printshop and will be responsible, in particular, for the following tasks:
• executing all work related to document reproduction, printing, binding, trimming;
• co-ordinating with internal customers to understand their needs in order to make proposals and give advice on service to be rendered (e.g. quality, quantity, time constraints);
• ensuring the first-line problem solving related to equipment;
• providing services of the printshop and ensuring quality, safeguarding of the house style by using equipment, machinery and consumable materials in the most optimized way;
• designing (DTP) and producing or modifying covers, layouts and other publications taking into account the applicable corporate guidelines;
• keeping up to date with the latest developments and technologies on the market and providing advice in respect of material/software acquisitions;
• ensuring the stock keeping of paper and other material used by the unit.

REQUIRED PROFILE

• Higher secondary education or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience in a similar position.
• Good DTP skills, and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional and CorelDraw.
• Ability to work in team.
• A service and customer oriented approach with good communication skills are key.
• Ability to plan and organise tasks and activities efficiently.
• The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular post, candidates should have a good knowledge of English and Dutch. Knowledge of French and • German would be an advantage.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• An initial selection will be made by a Selection Committee on the basis of the candidates qualifications and experience. Thereafter, those candidates considered suitable may be invited to assessment and interviews.
• The selected candidate will be offered a contract of three years. The contract may be renewed once for a fixed period of not more than three years. Before being confirmed in his/her post, the selected candidate will have to complete a probationary period of 9 months.
• The contract will be governed by the provisions of the “Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL”. The generic post is: Senior Clerical Assistant.
• This notice may be used for the recruitment of similar posts, for a period of one year following the establishment of the reserve list.
