Full-time Financial Planning Analyst

Aer Lingus is currently inviting applications for the position of Financial Planning Analyst.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:
• Assist in the year-round financial planning process.
• Liaise with operational areas within the organisation to identify and develop key cost drivers for input into the long-term financial plan.
• Engage with line accountants to establish and manage a database of key inputs for the long-term financial plan.
• Production/development of key performance indicators.
• Maintenance and development of long-term financial model.
• Analysis of periodic management accounts, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Utilisation of key analytical tools to evaluate financial and operational performance versus budget/forecast and previous financial periods.
• Preparation of commentary on financial information for distribution to senior management team and Board of Directors.
• Assist in the production of budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Act as finance contact on ad hoc projects and business cases.

To be considered for the position of Financial Planning Analyst, candidates must meet the following:

Essential Criteria
• Qualified accountant, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in industry in a financial planning/analysis role.
• Eligible to live and work in the EU.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Able to pass a 10-year security background check.
• Possession and demonstration of the key competencies and skills outlined below.

Key Competencies
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite combined with general proficiency in IT systems.
• Proven ability to systematically gather, test, review, monitor, analyse and report on management information.
• Practical approach to solving problems.
• Strong commercial focus, combined with drive and determination.
• Inquisitive, outgoing, tenacious and comfortable challenging the status quote.
• Focused attitude to work, with the ability to constantly meet deadlines while ensuring excellent attention to detail & high levels of accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include proven report writing & presentation skills.
• Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of an integrated team.

Desirable Criteria
• Financial modelling experience.
