Full-time Finance Leaders for Business 2010

la British Airways pe London - Heathrow / UK

Job Description

Closing Date: 25 June 2010

Finance Leaders For Business Graduate Programme, London Heathrow
Developing talented people to become our finance leaders of tomorrow…
• As the name suggests, the programme is designed to equip people with a complete range of financial and management capabilities to turn talented graduates into the senior finance leaders of the future.

• The reason is simple, the speed at which our business moves means our needs can change from year to year. We therefore need intelligent people with the enthusiasm, drive and flexibility to learn about our business so they can adapt to change as challenges arise.

• The programme is up to 3 years in length; this includes an induction and four placements. On joining the company you will work with your Graduate Development Manager to create a development plan tailored to your specific needs. You will have a placement line manager to support you in each of your placements and a mentor in the senior management community to support you throughout your programme and beyond.

• Placements will be matched to your development needs and designed to give you the opportunity to maximise your potential and develop your skills and capabilities to the full. They will be across the finance function and you will have the opportunity to work in areas as varied as internal audit, treasury, financial accounting and financial control. All of your placements will be real jobs with real responsibility and accountability. Some placements may include the need for travel and there may even be opportunities for placements overseas.

• You will be given all the tools and support you need to perform to your highest potential. On joining the company you will participate in a comprehensive and insightful graduate induction. This aims to provide thorough grounding in the company so you are ready to hit the ground running when you arrive in your first placement. Aside from your contemporaries you will also find a strong support network in place. Your Graduate Development Manager will provide you with regular career coaching and guidance and will work with you to create your personal development plan. You will also have an experienced senior manager from within the business to act as your mentor. All of these people will take an interest in tracking your progress as you pursue your financial career within the airline.

• In addition, you will have access to an impressive range of training resources that you will be able to draw upon to develop a wide range of skills such as leadership, team building, presentation and negotiation. You will also have an excellent study package to support you towards gaining your professional CIMA or ACCA qualifications.

• At the end of the programme you will have built up a core set of valuable skills; giving you the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of roles that allow you to progress your career in your chosen area of finance.
