Engineering Specialist – Aircraft Airframe Systems

Aer Lingus is currently looking for an Engineering Specialist – Airframe Systems. Based at Dublin Airport, the successful candidate will be an integrated member of the Engineering Department responsible for both Line and Base Maintenance activities. Candidates are required to have a flexible approach towards working patterns and may be required to work a shift pattern at short notice in support of areas within the Engineering Department. Candidates should be available to travel at short notice on occasion.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:
• Provide engineering support services for Airframe systems.
• Provide continued airworthiness requirements for both A330 and A320 aircraft.
• Provide oversight and monitoring of contracted services providers.
• Develop and maintain new systems of operations within the Engineering Department.
• Approve the application of 3rd party modifications to Aer Lingus aircraft.
• Implement the requirements of EASA part 21J design requirements as related to airframe systems.
• Generate Engineering orders to accomplish continuing airworthiness requirements.
• Evaluate and analyse manufacturer data and liaise with Airbus and other OEM to determine optional modification requirements during line and base maintenance operations.
• Provide on call AOG assistance to line and base maintenance.
• Support other areas of Engineering with required data.
To be considered for the position of Financial Planning Analyst, candidates must meet the following:

Essential Criteria
• EASA part 66 Aircraft Maintenance engineers Licence in Category B1 with type rating A320 or A330 or Graduate Engineer.
• Minimum of 3 years working experience of aircraft airframe systems.
• Base maintenance experience is essential.
• Full, Clean Driving Licence.
• In possession of a current unrestricted passport.
• Able to pass a 10-year security background check.
• Permanently eligible to live and work in Ireland.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Possession and demonstration of the key competencies outlined below.
If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries.

• A high level of flexibility with the ability to work on own initiative.
• Excellent technical judgement, analytical and trouble-shooting skills.
• Strong working knowledge of AMOS and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel etc).
